Grantmakers in the Arts

The 2020 edition of the annual conference Grantmakers in the Arts will take place virtually and will focus on the theme of "Power, Practice, Resilience | Remix’d".

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Grantmakers in the Arts will take place virtually on Mondays [November 9, 16, and 23] with remote workshop sessions on Fridays [November 13 & 20]. Sessions will be held in Eastern Standard Time. The virtual remix is a unique opportunity to connect from each of our home communities to reflect on the challenges the cultural ecosystem faces - rooted in systemic racism and amplified by the coronavirus pandemic – and imagine new systems of power and practice for a more resilient future.

Grantmakers in the Arts is the only national association of both public and private arts and culture funders in the U.S. and is the largest convening of arts funders and will explore Dr. Kimberlé Crenshaw's concept of intersectionality – exploring the impact of overlaps between identities such as between race, gender, sexuality, disability, and others such as discussions of the #MeToo, Black Lives Matter, Just Transition movements and how they manifest in the field of arts and cultural funding.
