How is AI transforming the role of the art museum? The ninth edition of the international conference series The Art Museum in the Digital Age is dedicated to the themes of trust and responsibility, data governance, digital sovereignty, AI-supported knowledge production, and new forms of art mediation and engagement. The conference focuses on both the potential of emerging technologies and their societal, ecological, and institutional implications. It invites participants to rethink the role and responsibilities of museums in a society increasingly shaped by AI. We welcome contributions from both research and practice that critically engage with the use of AI in museum contexts. Submissions are accepted until 15 November 2026.
