Join us at Wellcome Collection in London on 17 September for a future-focused conference for museum workers committed to real change. Explore how through creativity and integrity we can build a more equitable and hopeful future for museums.

This year’s conference brings together a remarkable line-up of international speakers based in six countries across three continents. Discover progressive approaches to museum work, engage in meaningful discussions with a global network, and leave inspired with actionable ideas to create more creative and impactful museums.

Join museum colleagues from Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Argentina, Aotearoa–New Zealand, the United States and across Scotland, England and Wales – for a day of shared learning, innovative ideas, and practical insights.

Chaired by Professor Dan Hicks, speaker include Mariano Gilmore, National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina; David Reeves, Auckland Museum, Aotearoa New Zealand; Shenali Boange, Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy; Giulia Gregnanin, Timespan in the Scottish Highlands; Hanouf Al-Alawi, The British Museum; and Helen Beaumont from the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin.

Since 2012, the Museum Ideas conference has hosted speakers from around the globe, including South Africa, Argentina, India, UAE, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, and many European countries. The annual event has welcomed museum workers from over 30 countries, fostering a global exchange of transformative ideas through impactful talks, wide-ranging discussions, and international networking.
