Organized by: National Taiwan Museum in collaboration with the National Development Council, Pingtung County Government, and Wutai Township Rukai Cultural Museum
Purpose: This bilingual international symposium responds to ICOM's triennial conference theme "The Future of the Museum in Rapidly Changing Communities" and aims to strengthen Asia-Pacific museum partnerships while deepening exchanges with international scholars.

Invited Comments from the ICOM Working Group on Decolonisation
Two sessions focus on Indigenous perspectives and decolonization practices. The symposium emphasizes Indigenous cultural sovereignty, museum ethics, and the need for museums to move from being mere interpreters to becoming facilitators of community narratives.
A session dedicated to experience sharing in the conservation and utilization of puppetry collections.
This project plans to organize three international forums, aiming to provide platforms for cultural dialogue and professional exchange in different settings. Two sessions will emphasize indigenous cultural subjectivity and ethical museum practices - one will be held at the National Taiwan Museum venue, while the other will take place at the Pingtung County Library headquarters, facilitating participation from indigenous cultural workers and museum professionals from outside Taipei.
