Museum Ideas 2024 will be held in London on 10 October 2024.

Explore the ideas shaping the future of museums and immerse yourself in projects infused with emotion, imagination, and new possibilities. Discover how the museum experience is being redefined by fostering deeper connections, rethinking power and agency, building meaningful co-creation with communities, and reimagining museums across digital, physical, and human interactions. Leave the conference with actionable ideas to enrich your museum practice. Speakers this year include Zandra Yeaman, Curator of Discomfort at the Hunterian in Glasgow; Korantema Anyimadu, Senior Curator of Anthropology at the Horniman Museum; and David Watson, Executive Director of Audiences and Media at National Museums Liverpool.

The conference will be chaired by Dan Hicks, Professor of Contemporary Archaeology at the University of Oxford and Curator at the Pitt Rivers Museum. Further speakers will be announced soon.

Since launching in 2012, Museum Ideas has featured speakers from South Africa, Argentina, India, UAE, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, and the Netherlands. The conference has welcomed museum professionals from over 30 countries, cultivating an ongoing global exchange of transformative ideas through impactful talks, wide-ranging discussions and international networking.
