Reframing Museums

This November, two institutions at the heart of Saadiyat Island – Louvre Abu Dhabi and NYU Abu Dhabi – will, for the first time, co-present the global symposium: Reframing Museums.

Global scholars, academics, established and emerging artists, and international museum experts will convene to discuss, interrogate, and reimagine the art museum of the future, building together new frameworks for museum practice. This live, virtual event will be open to the public and tackle the most pressing issues facing art museums today through series of roundtable discussions, keynote speeches, case study presentations and participative world café discussions.

Global luminaries confirmed include HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, David Wrisley, Eugene Tan, Jean-Luc Martinez, Kaywin Feldman, Kwame Anthony Appiah, Manal Ataya, Max Hollein, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Peter Magee and Yang Zhigang.

Sessions will be held online at Gulf Standard Time (programme to follow).
