Since 2004, the Society for Imaging Science and Technology has hosted the annual Archiving conference to bring together imaging scientists and those working in the cultural heritage community as well as in government, industry, and academia to discuss the most pressing issues related to the digital preservation, preservation, and access of 2D, 3D, and AV materials.
Keynote speakers include Jean-Yves Le Meur (Digital Memory project leader, CERN), David Taubman (Director, Kakadu Software Pty. Ltd.), and Jonas Palm (National Archives, Sweden). Presentations include standards and guidelines on preservation and archiving such as the EU's digital publications heritage and Portuguese projects on digitising photography collections; mass digitisation and workflow management systems; archival models; and case studies of collaborations and best practices.
